That is an image of a bird from the BP Oil Spill. e.e
Just thought this image was disturbing and made me so mad, needed to show you all D:

I listened to a National Public Radio segment on it and it said on average it takes 4 hours to clean each bird of the Oil. They have to sedate them and when it is done they take them to the Alantic Side of Florida for release.

But if you do the math. 4hrs x 10's of thousands of Birds. Alot of time to just clean the Birds. That doesnt include anything else like Turtles or even the Waters or Wetlands damaged in it.

Also in the segment they talked about underwater currents pulling the Oil as Far as Asia and Europe over the next 10yrs. So long after this is out of the spotlight this spill will effect the world as a whole not Just the USA.

But if you want something to make you madder or even sadder. Do a Google Search for the Texaco Oil spill in the Amazon in 2001. That Forest responcible for providing tons of the Oxygen we enjoy today was heavily damaged. And Chevron which bought out Texaco is still fighting all the Law suits and not taking responcibility for it. Matter of fact they feel they are being victimized by them. And are trying to get out of paying anything for a large Oil rupture that they caused.

It's nice to know the Big Cheese of companies aren't willing to do something about the oil, but they're putting up ads saying they are, which appeears in Google Search. If you type in BP Oil Spill, there's a yellow box saying BP is trying to fix it. It costs 50 billion dollars to put up ads like that. Why can't they use that money to actually TRY to do something >_> ?
